Technology Delivers More Insightful Predictions in F1

Data analysis plays a massive role in F1 by providing teams with the information they need to gain a crucial advantage over their competitors.

Before the Australian GP, Red Bull announced plans to use Oracle Cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies for the 2025 season.

They plan to tap into the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and run billions of simulations to get the best strategies, all in a bid to bolster their chances of dominating F1.

They are hoping that OCI can give them the edge over their competitors, allowing them to monitor car performances and track their opponent’s moves.

Red Bull has already enjoyed plenty of success with Oracle’s tech. Verstappen has won four successive world titles and is desperate to add a fifth to his CV this season.

Since shifting their strategic infrastructure to OCI four years ago, Red Bull’s simulation speed has increased by 25 percent.

The new OCI Compute shapes are expected to provide an additional 10% boost this year, which would be a game-changer in the team’s decision-making.

OCI’s efficiency-driven innovations will also help Red Bull optimise fuel usage. It will come in handy next year when F1 is expected to mandate the use of 100% sustainable fuel.
